The NCC is proud of its stumps.

If Bangalore loves to cut its trees, can the army be far behind? The brave youth of the NCC do not need trees in their campus on Dickinson Road. Cut them down and fast is the order they happily obey.

The Mission

The glass is half empty. Complacency won't prevent Bangalore from slowly but surely becoming another graceless, faceless concrete jungle. So that's why we have decided:

1. To spend the next three months chronicling the devastation of Bangalore's green cover by photographing the hundreds of stumps left behind every time another tree is felled.

2. To convert this into a pdf-only coffee table book to be entitled 'The Stumps Of Bangalore'.

3. To use the project and book to promote the concept of tree nurseries in private gardens than can be used to help seed the next generation of Bangalore's trees, which can then be planted in suitable places when the saplings are sufficiently well grown.
